The privacy of customer data is something which Lewis Computer Services takes very seriously. This is a topic far too often ignored by other companies and is something clients tend not to think about, however it has far-reaching implications.
Your computer contains a vast amount of personally-identifiable information. Financial records, pictures, business data, documents, Internet history and the like are all stored in a computer. This information comes into contact with Lewis Computer Services during the course of your repair and maintenance.
Lewis Computer Services believes that this information is solely your information and strives to protect it. The following are a few of the policies and procedures in place to ensure the security of customer data:
- Customer data has two disposition routes: back to the customer or destruction. Any media that contains customer data that does not remain with the customer has its data destroyed. This includes magnetic, optical and flash memory based storage. Magnetic and flash media are wiped while optical discs are shredded.
- The equipment used by Lewis Computer Services in the repair and maintenance of customer equipment that transports customer data is wiped on a regular basis.
- All customer records such as name, address and service/billing history are kept private.
